Ambulatory Care

Ambulatory Care Dietitians provide medical nutrition therapy, nutrition education and promote self-management in an outpatient clinic setting to help patients manage their medical conditions.  Dieticians counsel patients on both an individual basis and in group settings.

Ambulatory care dietitians work with clients living with a variety of medical conditions that may include:

  • allergies,
  • anemia,
  • celiac disease,
  • cirrhosis,
  • dysphagia,
  • renal disease,
  • HIV,
  • hepatitis C,
  • diabetes,
  • inflammatory bowel disease and others.

If you have a nutrition-related medical condition and would like to see a dietitian, ask your physician for a referral to your local Outpatient Nutrition Service:
