Pregnancy Outreach Program

Pregnancy Outreach services are provided in Greater Victoria to pregnant women and teens who are socially, economically and/or geographically isolated, and as a result, "at risk" for poorer health.  Programs offer prenatal education, nutrition education and support services to assist families in making links in their communities that support healthy outcomes for pregnant women and their children.

Programs are available at:

  • Fernwood Community Centre
  • Blanshard Community Centre
  • Esquimalt Neighbourhood House
  • Victoria Native Friendship Centre
  • West Shore Health Unit
  • Saanich Neighbourhood Place

Program Team staff include:

  • Public Health Nurses
  • Program Support and Outreach Workers
  • Registered Dietitians

Program participants are supported with food vouchers and prenatal vitamins, as well as opportunities to learn about:

  • Food preparation and healthy nutrition
  • Prenatal health
  • Self and baby care
  • Healthy parenting practices

Group sessions are held weekly at each of the six sites.

For more information or to learn how to connect with the Program, please contact your local Health Unit.
