Pregnancy Outreach Program

Pregnancy Outreach Programs provide enhanced perinatal services in Greater Victoria to pregnant women and teens experiencing health and/or lifestyle challenges during pregnancy, birth and the transition to parenting.  Programs offer prenatal education, nutrition education and support services to assist families in making links in their communities that support healthy outcomes for pregnant women and their children.

Programs are available at:

  • Fernwood Community Centre
  • Blanshard Community Centre
  • Esquimalt Neighbourhood House
  • Victoria Native Friendship Centre
  • West Shore Health Unit
  • Saanich Neighbourhood Place
  • Beacon Community Services

Program Team staff include:

  • Public Health Nurses
  • Program Support and Outreach Workers
  • Registered Dietitians

Program participants are supported with food vouchers and prenatal vitamins, as well as opportunities to learn about:

  • Food preparation and healthy eating
  • Prenatal health and wellness
  • Self and baby care
  • Healthy early parenting practices

Group sessions are held weekly at each of the sites.
