This program provides speech and language services to preschool children from the general population living within the Capital Region. To receive services, children must present with only speech and/or language delays/disorders and be preschool age (not yet eligible for kindergarten). Preschool children with developmental disabilities and children who are deaf or hard of hearing are not served by this program.

- Assessments
- Individual therapy
- Parent training for home programs
- Parent groups for early language stimulation
- Liaison and partnerships with other community agencies (Queen Alexandra Centre for Children’s Health, private practitioners, schools, hospitals)
Accessing Services
- Open referral from parents, physician, public health nurses or other community professionals
- Telephone or written referrals should be directed to the Health Unit closest to, or most convenient for, the family
