When a doctor or other health care provider refers you to the Queen Alexandra Centre for Orthotics, Pedorthics, Prosthetics and Seating they will give you a prescription note with our telephone number and location. Or, they can fax the prescription to us directly and we will phone you to schedule an appointment.
An appointment is scheduled for you
We do our best to find a day and time that is convenient for you. If you are from out of town, we can work with your schedule and book you in with the right clinician that fits your needs.
When you arrive
You'll need your Medical Services Plan health card and any other supplemental insurance information. It's a good idea to arrive a few minutes ahead of your appointment so that you have plenty of time to fill out any necessary paperwork.
You'll see a certified Pedorthic, Orthotic, Prosthetic or Seating expert on your first visit
He or she will ask you questions and do a variety of tests and measurements to help determine your exact needs. The clinician may also discuss options available and the general costs associated with your assessment. Depending on the services you require, you may have your casting and/or fittings for your device done immediately.
