What is Asthma?

Asthma is a chronic lung disease that can cause the airways in your lungs to become swollen and inflamed. This means your airways are sensitive and twitchy.

Those who suffer from asthma have recurring, sometimes acute, breathing problems. If not well controlled, the swelling is there all the time, often even when you feel fine.

Asthma that is not managed can limit activities of daily living, result in missed work or school, or lead to hospitalization.

There is no cure, but by taking steps to manage your asthma, you can have normal breathing and improve the quality of your life.

Our clinic can help you:

  • Develop self-management skills to take care of your asthma
  • Become an informed decision maker and play an important part in your asthma management
  • Get the most from your inhalers
