The Sleep Lab is a diagnostic program for adults. The lab's focus is the breathing disorders of sleep, specifically obstructive sleep apnea.
Some sleep disorders are:
- Sleep related breathing problems, including snoring and sleep apnea
- Insomnia - difficulty initiating and/or maintaining sleep
- Sleep related myoclonus - spasms, twitches, and movement in the arms and legs
- Narcolepsy - the tendency to fall asleep suddenly without warning
- Excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS)
- Parasomnias and other problems, including sleep walking, night terrors, bedwetting and night seizures
Patient Assessments
Referrals are accepted from Respirologists trained in Sleep Disorder Medicine. These specialists can diagnose, assess and provide treatment and management options for patients with sleep apnea. There are a variety of treatments available, depending on the patient's clinical situation.
Clinic Hours
The Clinic operates between the hours of 2100 to 0700, 7 nights per week and is located at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Royal 4.

Studies performed at the Sleep Lab
- Overnight Polysomnography with or without nCPAP / BiLevel titration
- Multiple Sleep Latency Testing (M.S.L.T.)
