Nov. 20 - Telehealth for Multiple Sclerosis

Improving Access to Specialists

When: November 20, 2017 (12:00 pm - 1:00 pm)

Where: Royal Jubilee Hospital Patient Care Centre Room S169 and via webinar (see below for instructions)

What:

Learn how Island Health is improving access to specialists for people with Multiple Sclerosis through TeleHealth! This patient-driven Quality Improvement project was funded by the Specialist Services Committee. Presenter Amber Holden worked with project lead Dr. Olinka Hrebicek to gather data during the 3-year pilot. This data provided the evidence needed for Island Health to sustain the program beyond the initial grant.

At the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:

  • identify the reasons for a care model re-design for Multiple Sclerosis patients
  • understand the importance of leveraging data to support the sustainability of new programs
  • recognize the value of using technology to support patient-centered programs at a local level

Presenter:

  • Amber Holden, Nurse; Clinical Lead, MS Telehealth Project
