Research Rounds

Research Rounds are usually held the last Thursday of every month from 8-9 am.  If you or anyone you know are participating in a research project that involves VIHA, we would love to have you present.  Please contact us if you are interested in sharing your work.  To attend any of our Research Rounds please RSVP cap_building@viha.ca .  Any session can be videoconferenced if desired, as long as there is a room available.  Please contact us if there is a session you want to link to.

Workshops

Our Research Skills Workshop series is designed to help new as well as "rusty" health researchers get motivated and excited about research again.  These workshops are aimed at teaching new skills that will help anyone interested in health research learn how to get started.  All workshops are listed in the Learning and Development Calendar.  To register for any of our Workshops please email lad@viha.ca or phone 250 519-6950.  For more information about these workshops, please contact cap_building@viha.ca.

VIHA Research Day 2009

Research Day was very well attended, with nearly 100 participants.  Thank you to everyone who attended - the day would not have been the same without you.  We were encouraged to see the amount of networking and sharing around research interests.  We look forward to seeing a larger attendance next year.   For more information about the presentations, please see the attached Program (PDF) of the event.  Some of the presentations from the breakout rooms are being highlighted during our Research Rounds.  If there was a talk that you were not able to attend, please take a look at our upcoming Research Rounds.

Health Research Meet & Greets

Our research capacity building office just recently returned from visits to northern and central Vancouver Island.  We were very pleased to see that research is alive and strong in some of VIHA's smaller communities.

We are hoping to have our health research database up and running sometime in the new year.  Thank you to all that contributed your research interests and skills.

We are hoping to organize one or two meet and greets in the south Island sometime this fall.

Thank you to everyone who attended our CI and NI meet and greets.  We were very excited to see so many wanting to be involved in research.
