August 30: Community Dialogue on Health Research

August 9, 2017
On August 30, the BC SUPPORT Unit Vancouver Island Centre is co-hosting a community dialogue on health research.

The objective of this event is to generate conversation and gather insights around the development of a new program in British Columbia that will help connect people to health research opportunities.

Project at a Glance
A majority of British Columbians are interested in participating in research but don’t know how they can get involved. At the same time, researchers spend a lot of time looking for participants and patient partners but struggle to find enough volunteers. The BC Health Research Connection Project will improve how patients and the public find and connect with researchers and opportunities.

We’re inviting you to come and share your ideas and tell us:

  • Why is health research important to you?
  • How can we keep you informed of research opportunities?

Where: Gordon Head Recreation Centre, Victoria

When:  2:00-4:00pm

Who: People with a personal experience of a health issue, their family members and caregivers, and those who have always been interested in getting involved in health research! We are also interested in hearing specifically from older adults and seniors in the community about their needs.

RSVP: Space is limited! Register on Eventbrite by August 27th
