Multi Level Care Unit and Urgent Care Unit
- Provides residential and respite care.
- Emergency and Laboratory services assist the Urgent Care Unit
Adult Day Care
- Provides weekly socialization activities and a bath for clients still living in their own homes

Activity Helpers
Assist with various aspects of the social recreation programs -Gardening, crafts, musical activities, exercise, and special meals. Minimum of one 2-hour shift as arranged.
Bus Outing Assistant
Accompany a group of residents on an outing – either for a drive or for lunch. One 2-hour shift each week to accompany residents on a drive. Two 3-hour shifts each week to accompany residents to a pub or lunch outing.

Youth Volunteer
Young people between the ages of 13 – 18. Assist as meal companions, visit with patients and residents, assist with social activities. Daily - 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Church
Set up area; encourage and support resident participation; assist residents to and from service; help resident follow along with hymns, help serve tea following event. Friday – 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Entertainers
Choirs, musical groups or individuals, bands, dramatic groups, share your travels, games, special events. Time is arranged at the convenience of the performer(s) and the program.
Friendly Links
Be a friend, a visitor, or a companion to two or three residents who need some extra TLC. Minimum of 2 hours per week.
Garden Club
Assist to provide a colourful and well-maintained garden area for the enjoyment of the residents, staff and visitors. Tasks include planting, weeding, and watering. 4 – 5 hours weekly March through October.

Hymn Sing
Encourage and assist residents to participate in the activity. Help by holding books, turning pages, and singing along. Sunday – 2 hours
Movie Assistant
Set up the area where movie is to be shown. Gather the residents for the movie and discuss it with them. Make and serve popcorn and drinks. Monitor the area while the movie is on, replenish drinks, and remove residents that wish to leave. Shut off TV at end of movie, rewind the tape and return to the Activity Office, Escort residents back to their designated areas. One 2 to 3 hour shift each week.
Garden Activities
Assist the residents to plan, plant, and care for their garden areas. Tasks include planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting. As scheduled by the Activity Department. April through October. Minimum 2 hour shift.
Auxiliary to Chemainus Health Care Centre
- CHCC Auxiliary Members assist with fund raising and various in-service activities that provide care and comfort for the residents of Chemainus Health Care Centre. 10 monthly meetings
- Work-bees
- Executive meetings
- Fundraising activities
- Gift Shop or Thrift Shop duties
- In-service activities such as serving tea and coffee
