About Volunteering

Volunteer Resources at Glengarry

Supporting and enhancing the quality of life for residents and their families at Glengarry.

Glengarry is a 'Complex Care' facility in the Fairfield community for residents requiring 24 hour care in a home-like atmosphere. Many residents use a wheelchair and need assistance with daily activities. Volunteers are a valued part of the healthcare team at Glengarry.  Volunteers are involved in a variety of social/leisure activities, outings and end-of-life care with specialized training.

For more information and general inquiries about Glengarry, visit the South Island Facility page.

We Believe At Glengarry

We believe that volunteers of all ages and backgrounds make a special contribution to the lives of our residents by supporting their dignity, security and quality of care. We believe in providing a positive and supportive environment where individuals as volunteers may apply their skills in a setting where all staff are involved in volunteer support and recognition.

Volunteers are an important part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. As part of this team, volunteers provide residents the caring connection to the community.
