Oceanside Community Volunteer Program

The Community Volunteer Program in Oceanside supports the Oceanside Home and Community Care Services, the Mental Health & Addictions Outreach Team and various programs at the Health Unit.  The Community Volunteer Program is expanding to meet the growing needs of an aging population in the central and eastern shore of Vancouver Island.

How to Apply

Follow the steps to become a volunteer to learn more about volunteering with us.

Volunteer Opportunities

Appointment Drivers: volunteers drive community clients to appointments, to pick up food from the local Food Bank, and other community related activities.

Friendly visitors: Adult volunteers are needed to provide one-on-one social support to clients in their homes in the community.

Baby Clinic: Volunteers are needed to support the various baby and youth immunization clinics held at the Health Unit.

Kindergarten and School Immunization Clinics: Volunteers are needed to assist staff with kindergarten and school age immunization programs at the Health Unit and in the community (School Year).

Flu Clinics: Volunteers are needed for the seasonal and influenza (flu) clinics held in the community and at the Health Unit. Seasonal.

Health & Wellness Fair and other Community Events: Volunteers are needed to help organize a very popular Family Health & Wellness Fair (Jan – April ) and other health-related educational events.
