Trillium Lodge is a 75-bed complex care facility located in the resort area of Parksville. This facility has a very active social and recreational program of activities which includes exercise groups, Tai Chi, arts and crafts, bingo, church services, various entertainment groups and special events. A feature of Trillium Lodge is the Therapeutic Gardens completed in the spring of 2004. Trillium Lodge gardens were part of the Parksville entry into the Communities in Bloom nationwide contest and was a main factor for first place finishes in 2004 and 2005. An avid gardening club of volunteers and residents maintain and beautify the garden year round. The program has expanded to include an herbal garden allowing fresh herbs to be included in the menu.
Trillium and has an in-house palliative care team of volunteers in partnership with the Oceanside Hospice program.
Trillium has a very active Auxiliary which, along with a successful fundraising campaign, operates a Tuck Shop and Hair Salon within the facility. With funds raised by the Auxiliary, the lodge was able to purchase a new bus allowing the continuation of a very active community outing program. Auxiliary volunteers are also responsible for nail grooming sessions, a library cart service, monthly teas and a one-to-one visiting program. The Trillium Auxiliary also holds the contract for a regular Chaplain who strives to meet the spiritual needs of the residents and their families. The Auxiliary provides the money and support for much needed equipment and furnishing which add to the comfort and care of the residents of Trillium Lodge. We are always looking for new members and new ideas.
