The Victoria General Hospital (VGH) is an acute care facility that provides emergency/trauma services, general surgery, medical treatment, rehabilitation, geriatrics and pediatric services to people in the South Region of Vancouver Island. VGH is located just off the Trans-Canada Highway at Helmcken Road in the View Royal Municipality of Greater Victoria.

Infant Hugging Programing:
At this time we are not accepting new candidates for the Infant Hugging Programming. Please note that volunteers for this program are generally selected from our pool of “internal candidates”, that is, volunteers who have already been volunteering at Island Health and demonstrated exceptional volunteerism.
P.A.R.T.Y. Program volunteers needed:
Be a part of the growing community effort to reduce death and injury in youth. VGH currently needs volunteers in this program who are available 1-4 times per month on Thursdays from approximately 9AM – 1PM from late September through to June. Learn more here: www.viha.ca/trauma/party
