Goal: To provide new VIHA staff with strategies to help prevent the onset of work-related signs and symptoms of musculoskeletal injury (MSI).
Who it's for: Every new VIHA staff member will receive between 1.5 to 3.5 hours of MSI prevention training depending on the type of work they do.
When: The training will occur before the staff member starts work or in the early stages of beginning their new job.
What: This prevention training helps new employees increase their knowledge on:

Identifying early signs and symptoms of musculoskeletal injury;

Proper body mechanics;

Safe work practices;

Injury risk identification; and

Using assistive equipment.
